The UACJ has organized previously, four successful conferences with the general themes of: “User Information Skills in Higher Education Institutions” and “The User Instruction Before  the New Educational Models” on the first two ones.
On the third conference, a great progress was achieved on integrating a set of standards for evaluating informational competencies of Mexican university students.  
On the fourth, held on October of 2004 under the title “Towards Info Lit Programs Implementation”, participants discussed about how to work side by side with other members of the academic community, with the aim of preparing information literate students, with the competencies that will empower them to be more successful students and professionals.
Besides the benefits that the exchange of information these events provided, there have been three books published with the best papers presented, and two statements with the help of the participants, collaborating this way to the impulse of the educational programs of information users in Mexico and other countries.

With the contribution of speakers, and the feedback of the audience, it is expected to have a better understanding of topics like:
