Juarez University libraries
invite librarians, educators, library products and services suppliers, and
professionals involved in the facilitation of information literacy
competencies to participate in our meeting.
BACKGROUND:
The first three meetings have been successful conferences. The first
one had as topic “User Information Skills in Higher Education
Institutions”, the second one focuses on “The User Instruction Before the
New Educational Models”, in the third meeting, celebrated on October 2002,
were developed the Information Competencies standards for Mexican Higher
Education students.
Two books have been published with the best papers and one more is in
edition. Also two manifiestos have been written on User Information
Competencies, with the participation of the attendants, to promote the
Information Literacy institutions.
FOURTH MEETING
This time the general objective will be share national and
international experiences, ideas and projects about how to take to the
practice collaborative actions with the rest or the participants in the
learning communities, to achieve the expected result: students with
information competencies which will allow them to be more successful as
professionals and social beings.
PLACE
The host, Juarez University Libraries, have excellent facilities and a
leading user education program in Mexico.
SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION
All sessions will be interpreted simultaneously in English or Spanish.
Therefore, the reference work will be prepared or discussed on both
languages.
